A restaurant environment inspired by the turn of the century “La belle époque”
Eggers restaurant & bar is well known and has been so since the 1800s. We serve well-prepared, classic food in a modern and conscious way with a touch of attitude and a twinkle in the eye. The setting is inspired by Paris in the turn-of-the-century La Belle Époque, the era of carefree living when people used the city’s cafés, restaurants and art salons as their living rooms.
Our regular opening hours:
- Monday-Wednesday 11:30 am–2 pm and 4 pm–late
- Thursday-Friday 11:30 am–late
- Saturday 3 pm–late
Sundays we are only open for breakfast. Deviations may occur in certain seasons.

We are a cashless restaurant. If necessary, you can pay with cash at our hotel reception.
A charming meeting place in the city center
Located on Drottningtorget in central Gothenburg, Eggers has always been an ideal meeting place. Come in and socialize with friends in a unique and relaxing environment. Land in the bar after a long day on the town, enjoy selected wines and cocktails in a stylish setting. If you get hungry, we can recommend Egger’s well-known shrimp sandwich, or something else good from our à la carte menu. Welcome in for breakfast, lunch or à la carte.

Welcome to our historic bar. The hotel was opened in 1859 but our “American Bar” was not completed until 1884. Here we serve classic cocktails in a contemporary setting, wine and beer.

You are welcome to join us for after work on any day of the week, but on Thursdays and Fridays we have after work with extra good prices in the bar.

At Hôtel Eggers, parties, weddings and secret agent meetings have been held since 1859. If you want to invite to a party in a unique environment, right in the heart of Gothenburg, we are ready to help you organize a party that also goes down in history.
A cozy restaurant with a French touch in Gothenburg
Our à la carte menu is based on bistro dishes with both Swedish and French touches. On the menu you will always find classic dishes such as steak and Biff Rydberg as well as well-prepared dishes with fish, meat and vegetarian.
