Our Group’s commitment to a better world is a long-standing one. All our work must promote health and contribute to sustainable development, both on a daily and long-term basis. The goal is for our business to be able to use and save the earth’s resources.
Environmental responsibility
The aim of our sustainability work is to take responsibility for the cycle of which our activities are a part. The responsibility rests heavily on all of us to contribute to future generations. That’s why we have ambitious targets for purchasing, water consumption, energy consumption and waste. Our sustainability work goes beyond the environment to include people and the economy.
Our environmental work and the Nordic Swan
Hôtel Eggers is Nordic Swan Ecolabel certified, just like our sister hotels in Lotus Hotel Group. The label takes a holistic approach and sets requirements for energy consumption, waste reduction, water consumption and chemicals.
You can make an active choice for the environment when you choose a hotel and conference facility with Nordic Ecolabel certification.
Our own wind turbine
We have our own wind turbine that supplies us with electricity. And best of all, it’s not just us, but also our sister hotels Varbergs Stadshotell, Arken Hotel & Art Garden Spa and Billingehus.
Our wind turbine stands, stately with its 100 meters above sea level, between Vara and Skara.

What we do every day:
Hotel Cleaning
Rooms and premises are cleaned in the most climate-friendly way possible. This means careful dosing and eco-labeled choices in the few chemical products we use. Of course, all chemical products used every day are eco-labeled!
Ecolabels such as the Swan, Krav & Fairtrade
You’ll find delicious flavors in our kitchen, where we cook with seasonal ingredients. By making conscious choices in our kitchen, we aim to create a dining experience that is both enjoyable and sustainable. In the restaurant industry today, huge amounts of food are thrown away. We want to make a change by reducing portions slightly and instead being very clear that you can always ask for more if you are not full.
Purifying and carbonating our own water is also a matter of course, and both coffee and tea are certified and fair trade.
We only use Nordic Swan Ecolabeled tea lights and pillar candles.
We use 100% environmentally friendly consumables, such as toilet paper, tissue paper, copying paper and notepads.
Our printed matter is produced at a Nordic Swan Ecolabelled printing house.
Waste sorting & recycling
We reduce our combustible waste because we sort everything that can be sorted.
We take care of and recycle all cans and bottles. What we receive in deposits we donate to charity. In 2024, we received 11,800 SEK in deposits, which we chose to donate to World Animal Protection.

Social responsibility
It feels important to be able to contribute to something more than just great experiences with us. We want to be responsible actors both locally and globally and therefore we have chosen to support the organizations below in one way or another.
Julklappsvagnen Stadsmissionen
Every Christmas, we help collect Christmas gifts for “Julklappsvagnen”. Julklappsvagnen is a collaboration between Spårvägssällskapet Ringlinien and Göteborgs Stadsmission. Together they revive a 100-year-old idea of traveling around the city in a tram and collecting Christmas gifts for children, young people and families living in vulnerable situations.
Göteborgs Stadsmission Göteborgsvän
In Gothenburg, too many families with children live in poverty. We want to help change that. That’s why we support Göteborg Stadsmission´s work with emergency and long-term initiatives, so that more families can have a better standard of living. In this way, we take social responsibility and help create an opportunity for change.
Reningsborg
Our surplus furniture at Hôtel Eggers is donated to Reningsborg and also to Stadsmissionen. Furniture or goods donated to Reningsborg are either sold in their stores or transported to cooperation projects in Eastern Europe.
Julklappsvagnen Stadsmissionen

Lotus Love – our own products
Lotus Love are our own products that are available in the hotel rooms. They are inspired by the lotus flower, which symbolizes purity and promotes happiness and longevity.
It’s not just the packaging that’s beautiful, but also the contents. Our Lotus Love products are both Nordic Swan Ecolabeled and vegan. For example, we have a scented candle made of soy wax, which is biodegradable, and our products also contain no microplastics.
Whistleblower function
The Lotus Hotel Group has good internal controls, but despite this there may be irregularities. We encourage people with knowledge or suspicion of wrongdoing to report it.
