Welcome to our hotel in Gothenburg
One of Sweden’s oldest hotels
Hôtel Eggers is proud to be one of Sweden’s oldest hotels still in operation. The white facades are still an ornament to Drottningtorget and the name Eggers is an obligation. Our aim is to offer today’s hotel guests something of the same experience as in the past, with personal service, care and an exclusively pleasant environment. Just like when the hotel was young.

Book a cosy hotel in Gothenburg
We have around 70 different and individually decorated hotel rooms of a high standard. Some rooms are larger and more luxurious, others a little smaller and more intimate, but all with their own special charm. The rooms are either overlooking the bustling Drottningtorget square or facing our courtyard, a quiet atmosphere in the middle of the city. With parquet and genuine carpets on the floors and stucco and chandeliers on the ceilings, we offer an environment beyond the ordinary. We think you will appreciate our special and personal style.

Facilities at the hotel
At Hotel Eggers, guests have been arriving, resting and enjoying themselves for over 160 years. Our ambition is the same now as it was then – to make you feel well taken care of from the very first moment. In addition to beautiful rooms, we offer good food and drink, and in the lobby – where travelers through the centuries have gathered – you can sit down and let the wings of history meet the comforts of today.

Eggers Restaurant
Our restaurant serves well-prepared, classic food in a modern and conscious way, with a touch of attitude and a twinkle in the eye. The setting is inspired by the Paris of the turn-of-the-century La Belle Époque, the era of carefree living when people used the city’s cafés, restaurants and art salons as their living rooms.

Eggers Bar
Welcome to our historic bar. Hôtel Eggers was opened in 1859 but the “American Bar” was not completed until 1884 and was then one of the first bars in Sweden to serve real cocktails. We want to keep a little of that era and let our guests experience the 19th century with genuinely crafted drinks and classic cocktails in a contemporary setting.

Hotel Lobby
In our cosy lobby you can relax with the day’s newspaper and a cup of coffee. We also serve wine, beer and delicious bistro dishes from the kitchen. Perhaps you would like to try Eggers’ well-known shrimp sandwich?
